Child-Like Faith

Do you remember the last time you were able to believe, trust and live worry-free?

If you are like me, that may not have come easy at all, especially coming from a very abusive and traumatic childhood. Our parents are supposed to build the very foundation of faith & love in us, so that when we get old enough and return to Father God on our own, we know how to accept and act in Faith. Well, how many know that this is not always the case! Whether it’s because our parents were absent from our lives in some way or another, or they were just the opposite of love & faith by being abusive or they just didn’t know because they were never taught and perhaps they were not willing to learn. Whatever the reasonings maybe, it has affected us determentially, because we end up repeating what we were taught and experienced as children. And so the generational curses continue!

What if I told you there is a way to BREAK the Generational Curses and give your children a chance to experience a life of freedom and healing? Heck, between me and you, you yourself can also stand to benefit from the revelation I am about to share with you.

Here it is: CHILD-LIKE FAITH..Boom!!!! Okay, let me break it down on what that looks like and how you can get there.

  1. Trusting of the Lord’s every word

  2. Hanging onto to everything God says and does with anticipation

  3. Believing what God says to be true no matter

  4. Worrying about nothing

  5. Allowing God to Provide EVERYTHING

Now, let’s go deeper with this, YOU READY? Majority of us live our entire lives and never experience this. I know God does not want us to live in a place of worry, fear, hopelessness, anger, hurt, resentment and shame. So, the first step to starting your journey to trusting the Father God again, is to accept Christ Jesus as your Lord & Saviour, believing that he died on the cross and rose again so that you can have LIFE eternally in him.

[1Peter 1:23 NLT] 23 For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.

Once you accept Christ into your heart, the next is to build a relationship with him, so that he may teach you his ways.

[Matthew 11:29 NLT] 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

You build a relationship by:

  1. Reading and Understanding his word (The Bible) for yourself

  2. Praying and Having Conversations with him throughout your day

  3. Ask him to show you who he is to you and who you are to him

You will start to notice a subtle shift in your life at first, you may want to resist at first because you’ve been so used to doing things “your way”. I encourage you to submit to the change that God is doing in your life because you won’t regret it, trust me it’s a beautiful experience, like none other. Every day I learn something new about God, his ways, and even myself. I have truly come to love my life, whether I have thousands in the bank or a negative bank account. Whether everything goes “my way” or if the Lord steps in and decides to change things according to his will. Whether I am liked or loved by anyone else on this Earth does not phase me anymore, because I know my Father God loves me unconditionally and so therefore I AM “FREE TO BE ME”.

Additional Scripture References:

[Matthew 18:3-4 NLT] 3 Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. 4 So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

[Mark 10:13-16 NLT] 13 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. 14 When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” 16 Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.

[Luke 18:15-17 NLT] 15 One day some parents brought their little children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But when the disciples saw this, they scolded the parents for bothering him. 16 Then Jesus called for the children and said to the disciples, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 17 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”

[Matthew 11:25 NLT] 25 At that time Jesus prayed this prayer: “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike.
